Really strong reframe on measurement here. HRV as deliberation tool rather than optmization metric changes everything about the feedback loop. It's not about hitting perfect scores, its about understanding the body's response patterns well enough to make better micro-decisions daily. This kind of self-awareness compounds way more than any protocol can.

Coming up to 70 and I have 6 years of detailed HRV (and sleep, exercise etc) data. Physical training hasn’t impacted my HRV as much as starting an Amazon publishing business. Apparently cognitive load is a bigger stressor. I’ve settled into it and HRV is returning to somewhat normal. Now I’m just managing our summer heat in Oz. It’s an interesting experiment as I age.

This is such a powerful reminder that the future we’re moving toward is shaped not by grand transformations, but by the quiet choices we honour today. I’ve learned that the smallest, most deliberate acts become turning points, not because they change everything at once, but because they change us.

What you’ve written captures that beautifully: aging isn’t a decline, it’s a conversation between who we’ve been and who we’re still becoming. When we choose curiosity, self-respect, and micro-actions, we’re not fighting age; we’re partnering with it.

Thank you for this, Robyn. It’s a generous reframing of what’s possible at any stage of life. Cheers, Kent

I've just been learning about a longevity mindset and am interested in pursuing it more.
