What lovely prose, I can see your Dad exercising and happy. And this "...but I am my father’s daughter." is worth everything. You are more your Papa's daughter than you realize. Well done.

Thanks Kathy. It took a long time to realise the wisdom that was demonstrated every day.

What a great example you had growing up. I had active parents, but not like that. I didn't get into a habit until my boys were grown.

My habits took a lot of taming and it wasn't until much later that I came to appreciate the example I was set early. But Dad keeps doing what Dad does - keeps modelling a good life, well lived for his family.

Yes to this!! I consider my love-hate relationship with distance running to be my biggest gift from the universe

I wish I was a runner Jenna. But I do understand the love-hate relationship. I have a morning habit routine, because if I didn't tick them off early, it wouldn't happen. If I don't do them, I feel so bad. I am sitting here this morning un-exercised because we are going for a long ride later this morning but I am antsy already.

Beautiful day for a ride. We’ve stopped for a coffee at our favourite cafe. Doesn’t get better than this.

Hi Robyn, Bravo to your Dad! Habits seem to be a plus and a minus for me. They keep me doing things I might not want to do, but they also need to be reviewed from time to time because some are old and outdated..

I love this, Robyn: "My purpose now is to be that role model for my family." Being a role model to friends and family is such a powerful and meaningful "why" to drive your life. I'm going to remember this more on those days I really don't feel like working out or sticking to my routine.

And thank-you so much for sharing my work. It's a pleasure to be apart of the same community as you.
