But the real problems start well later than 70, when the wheels start falling off in one way or another and it becomes harder to do that sort of thing. 'Just keep going' is a great motto, Ann. I've started training for my 80s and 90s already so my wheels don't fall off. It's hard, but my motto is 'I can do hard things'. The splits at 80 is on my list. Love that pic.
I don't think you can stop the wheels falling off, Robyn – you can just limit the damage and cross your fingers for good luck. Doing the splits at age 80 has no special benefit above impressing people, but it sure does that! I think it's a great picture, too - completely spur of the moment. But 'I can do hard things' is a good motto, too, especially as what you need to do gets harder and harder until it's the big one, the Grim Reaper visiting you (hard, but it's over) or your spouse/partner (I suspect harder and not over at all). age 70 now, hadn't been able to afford much of anything for the past 15 years, and now I can. Intend to travel, took my kids to Capri for my birthday, then went to Naples alone, as we all went our separate ways. Planning on more solo travel, but next up is Thailand to work with elephants w an 85 year old gf that travels constantly. I love this story, thanks so much for posting.
Indeed, how wonderful is our Jo? I also know an amazing woman who has casually picked up learning Latin. I might have to interview her for another inspiring story.😉
