Hi Robyn, I'm so glad to hear that your Dad is at least back to the course. He must be doing many things right - to be playing golf at age 91. My hat is off to him.

Thanks Robyn. This is an important post. If we live long enough most of us will develop this problem. In America it is very strongly related to too much belly fat. Age is a leading risk factor in those like your father. If we gain weight, abdlominal fat makes hormones that increase the blood pressure, heart size, and the likelihood of heart failure. Certain medication precisely block the effects of those hormones.

Thanks William. He has lived a fit and healthy life which is working for him now. But he is now on Blood thinners and beta blockers for the first time in his life so doing pretty well. It was just BP meds before that.

Sobering points, Robyn. Your Dad sounds like he is on the mend thanks to his children. Your story definitely points out the issues with getting quality medical care...and getting it promptly.

One of the things that I cover in Kindness Magnet is the ability for kind acts to help reduce stress and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. There's a lot of scientific research behind this. It's just one more thing that people can do to help their heart.

I think I'm headed to the grocery today to get some fruit. Thank you for the suggestion! 💚
